Delicious breakfast: Banana pancakes and oatmeal

During the week we don't have much time to indulge in breakfast. Saturday and Sunday are the perfect days when we prepare lunch with the whole family and enjoy the beautiful moments of the morning.
My kids really like pancakes, and I try to make them as often as possible. This morning we prepared different pancakes together, made of banana, raspberry and oatmeal. On the outside they may not look too good, but they are absolutely delicious and disappear from the plate in a few minutes.

Necessary ingredients:

I never use the proportions when I add the ingredients, so absolutely all the dishes I prepare are made "by eye".

How is it prepared:

Pancakes are very easy and quick to prepare.

  • For starters, I crushed the oatmeal with a grinder to get flour from them.
  • In the blender I passed the bananas, then I added raspberries and oatmeal, I mixed until I got the right dough for pancakes.
  • On the well-heated pan, I baked the pancakes on both sides, then let them cool.
  • I ate them with honey and raspberry jam.

Nutritious fillings for pancakes

In the case of pancakes & bdquoclassic & rdquo you can choose for the filling an extremely nutritious mixture such as urde or defatted cheese, seasoned with a powder of sugar, finely chopped fresh fruit or a pinch of salt, dill and green onions. If you preferred the pancake version, pour a teaspoon of honey or homemade jam. And so a taboo product for slimming belts, the pancake becomes a perfect and tasty option. I would like to remind you that you can also make pancakes with a mixture of wholemeal flours, wheat flour mixed with barley and rye, thus greatly increasing the final nutritional value.

And if you love pancakes so much that you want them at lunch or in the evening, I can tell you that it is your right to choose bold fillings that break the monotony of a traditional meal. A spicy vegetable puree, guacamole or (for pampering days) a little rocquefort cheese can turn the ordinary pancake into an original delicacy.

Healthy breakfast. Ideas, tips, recipes

Breakfast should be consistent, but healthy, which is why you should avoid certain types of food, but also certain ways to prepare them. For example, remove sausages from the menu, which are full of salt, fat, chemicals, flavors, water and other dangerous E's, canned foods such as liver pate (which contains no liver at all), cubes or sugar bars. melted cheese (which does not contain any cheese), gives up fats, fried foods, sweets and white bread. Avoid commercial fruit juices, but it is good to be moderate in terms of excessive consumption of natural juices. The latter contain a very large amount of fructose and are poor in nutrients. The reason? They are found in the peel of the fruit, which, when we prepare the juice, we throw in the trash.

A tip for all those who suffer from celiac disease: the main meal of the day can be just as healthy and tasty even if it doesn't contain any gluten! Here is a list of gluten-free foods ideal for breakfast: eggs, vegetables, fruits, dairy (yogurt, cheese, cheese, sour cream, milk) vegetable oils (olives, sunflower, corn), oilseeds (almonds, cashews, nuts, hazelnuts ), seeds, gluten-free cereals (corn, rice, millet).

Breakfast ideas

A healthy breakfast involves a menu rich in protein, fiber and carbohydrates. Protein will give you the feeling of satiety and will drive away the hunger that can occur between meals. This is why proteins are ideal especially if you are on a diet. Eat eggs, cheese, milk and lean chicken or fish with confidence. Vegetable proteins can be found in mushrooms, beans, lentils, chickpeas, oilseeds, seeds.

You will find fiber in whole grains, fresh vegetables and fruits, and carbohydrates in whole grains, bread, rice, potatoes, pasta. And if you say that you can't eat rice or pasta early in the morning, we contradict you, because the puddings prepared from these ingredients are absolutely delicious!

No sugar or other sweetener is added to milk cereals!

Whole grains with milk

Put half a liter of milk to boil and add a mix of whole grains: barley, oats, wheat, millet, buckwheat, rye. Bring to a boil over low heat and stir from time to time so that it does not stick to the pot. When cooked, pour the cereal into a bowl and optionally add a few raisins. Careful! Do not add sugar or honey! And one more tip: when buying whole grains, read the label carefully and avoid products that contain added sugar.

Whole rice with honey

Brown rice contains a large amount of nutrients & # 8211 vitamins & minerals & # 8211 that white rice loses during the refining process. Rice contains carbohydrates that give the body an energy boost, helps it run at full capacity and with all engines running. Brown rice is healthy, filling and a perfect ingredient for breakfast. You can boil it in milk and consume it as such, you can use it as a main ingredient in pudding or you can mix it with honey and fruits such as blackberries, currants, raspberries, apples, grapes or dried fruits (not candied !!)

Wholemeal bread with butter, honey or jam

I will never forget the unmistakable taste of childhood and the cold winter mornings when my grandmother prepared my breakfast before going to kindergarten. He greased a slice of bread with butter, put honey or homemade jam on top and a glass of cocoa milk. Sometimes he toasted the bread on a tin tray and after it cooled a little, he sprinkled Telemea cheese on top, grated cheese or greased it with cottage cheese. He had a cup of tea by his side.

The omelet can be rolled and eaten as a pancake

Omelet with cottage cheese and dill

Eggs should not be missing from breakfast: Boiled egg or omelet are healthier than egg eggs because the latter are fried in oil, and fried foods do not go well with health or figure. If, however, you crave an egg, use a non-stick pan or boil them in water. If you opt for the omelet, it does not fry in oil! I'll explain how I make the omelet for a healthy breakfast, so as to avoid sticking to the pan.

I bought a rather expensive pan, from a famous brand, and to which the food is supposed not to stick. But it happens from time to time. Which is why when I prepare the baby omelet, I spray a little olive oil. Just a few drops. Then I spread them well over the entire surface of the pan and absorb the excess & # 8211 if any & # 8211 with a paper towel. The pan now has that greasy film that doesn't let the food catch and burn.

Then I beat an egg, I add a little finely chopped onion, a quarter of the capsicum and the small pieces and I pour everything into the pan. After a few tens of seconds, I turn the omelette on the other side using a spatula. When it's ready, I turn it over on a plate, sprinkle telemea or cheese on top and roll it like a pancake. Sometimes grease the omelet with a cow's cheese paste mixed with a little cream and freshly chopped dill.

Slices of bread should not be toasted too well, as the burn is not healthy

Toast with avocado and tomato paste

If you want to enjoy one or two slices of toast for breakfast, be careful not to toast them too much. The burn is not healthy! In large quantities it even becomes toxic to the body. The toast can be spread with avocado paste and topped with small slices of tomatoes. You can grate Telemea cheese or a few sprigs of chopped parsley on top. Over the hot toast, just removed from the appliance, you can put a generous slice of cheese that will soften from the heat and will be even more delicious.

Quick breakfast

During the week, in the morning, you do not have much time to prepare breakfast. But that doesn't mean that the food it is not healthy or tasty. On the contrary! You have many options for a quick breakfast.

Vegetable salad with egg and telemea

It is prepared simply, quickly, without much hassle and is very healthy: a salad of a few tomatoes, a few slices of cucumber, half a pepper, a few fresh spinach leaves over which sprinkle the telemea and sprinkle everything with a little olive oil & # 8230And for a protein intake, add two boiled eggs cut in quarters. If you want the morning meal to be even more filling, you can add a few croutons of wholemeal bread.

Whole grain yogurt and berries will give you an energy boost

Whole grain yogurt and berries

Add in a low-fat yogurt one, two tablespoons of whole grains, mix well and consume everything after 10 minutes. During this time the cereals will soften and will only be good to eat. You can add a little honey and some berries.

If you are on a diet and avoid carbohydrates, try to eat fiber from fruits and vegetables for breakfast. A smoothie prepared quickly, in two steps and three movements, from your favorite fruits, will provide you with all the vitamins, minerals and nutrients that your body needs. Be careful, however, the fruits contain fructose and in large quantities it makes you fat !. Opt for a mix of apples, bananas, carrots, berries. Do not add sugar or cream!

Breakfast ideas

I also told you that I've been experimenting in the kitchen lately. So I thought it would be a good idea to share with you some ideas for breakfast or brunch, when we talk about late morning days.

Trying to select from the pictures I have already taken, without preparing specifically for an article, I find that most are based on the egg, being various simple recipes with eggs at the base or as a center piece.

Croque madame

Although it is a very pompous name, in short this is nothing but a sandwich with ham, cheese and fried egg, all packaged in a beautiful shape. For a Croque madame sandwich, you need:

  • 1 or
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 2-3 slices of ham
  • 2 slices of sliced cheese
  • 2 tablespoons grated mozzarella

Make a sandwich with the ham and cheese you have and put the sandwich in a pan in which you melted the butter, browning it on both sides.

In the same pan (I used a pancake like this, because I can fry in it without oil and without sticking) fry the egg, you can put the lid to cook it as it is mine.

After it is fried, put the grated mozzarella on the sandwich, I really like it from lidl, and put the hot egg on top. I also made a mini salad with arugula and balsamic vinegar and I thought they went great together!

Ză Papara at the pan & # 8211 Inspiration Ză Lokal

Inspired by something I tried last year at a restaurant in Bucharest, where I took the name, one morning I tried to reproduce their recipe for Ză Papara at the frying pan.

The place was known at that time especially for brunches so we made time in one morning and went to have the first meal of the day.

What I ate was a pretty simple omelet, nothing special, but my friend ordered this pan which sounds really good! I'll tell you what happened at the end, now I'm going to go to the recipe.

  • frozen wedges (for faster cooking)
  • tomato sauce
  • two eggs
  • a few slices of chorizo or bacon
  • cheese
  • green onions
  • ardei kapia
  • white onion

I started by sautéing the white onion, together with the kapia pepper, over which I then put the chorizo slices.

I hardened a little more, then I put the tomato sauce and let them drop like a sauce. Separately I fried the potatoes, I made the two eggs soft mesh.

I tossed the potatoes in the sauce, mixed them and put them on the fire. For serving, I put the two meshes over it, grated the cheese and chopped a little parsley, but above I told you about the green onion, I think it would work great.

Returning to the story in Local Day, the experience was not perfect as the potatoes were not cooked, as a result we could not touch the food.

However, I'm sure it was a one time thing, the people there were very ok and didn't make us pay that portion. I recommend you go to them when circumstances allow us or at least order.

This recipe is for brunch, because it is quite filling and a bit heavy for breakfast, but I assure you that it is very tasty!

Pain perdu / French Toast / Frigănele

When I was little I didn't know about lost bread, French toast or even the name of the frigans, but this is a dessert that I often asked my father to prepare for us. Later, when I grew up, I started to do and continue to prepare now.

How I came across the official name or especially how my father knows the recipe I still haven't found out, but it seems to me something easy to prepare, an idea for breakfast, when you want to indulge in something sweet. What it is?

For the preparation you need:

  • a few slices of white bread
  • milk, the amount depends on how many slices of bread you want to prepare
  • 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 or
  • vanilla essence
  • optional edible orange peel

The preparation is not great engineering. Beat the egg and mix with the milk, essence and vanilla sugar.

The slices of bread, which I recommend you cut a little thicker, are given through this liquid mixture and fried in a pan with a little oil or butter, on both sides until golden brown.

Do not keep them too long in the composition with milk so as not to soften too much, but do not remove them too quickly, we want a soft and fragrant medium.

After frying them, take them out on a kitchen towel and sprinkle caster sugar on each one, placing them on top of each other in the shape of a turret.

You can decorate them with fresh fruits: strawberries, blueberries, cherries, etc. or they can be eaten with a sweeter sweetness such as cherries, which goes great!

I assure you that it is a delicious, quick and easy to make breakfast idea!

Sticky / tortilla & # 8211 sweet / salty breakfast idea

For some time now, we have been passionate about lidl tortillas, which we fill with all sorts of things and make various combinations.

First I will propose the ones in the salty food version, and then a sweet variant, which I saw at Teo & # 8217s Kitchen, which I follow on instagram as a source of inspiration!

For the first salty version you need the following ingredients:

  • two tortillas from lidl like the ones listed above
  • cream cheese that I also buy from lidl or I tried another good one from mega image
  • telemea cheese
  • kapia peppers or burnt peppers, for those who prefer more spicy, in summer I like to put Bulgarian peppers from one that is not burnt, but tastes different from kapia peppers

Again, the preparation is very simple, grease the tortilla with cream cheese, put 2-3 strips of dried raw muscle, then cheese cut into thin strips and pepper just as thinly cut.

I have long given up on bell peppers, in favor of kapia peppers, both for breakfast and in general in the recipes I prepare, it seems to me that it is much more flavorful throughout the year, regardless of the season.

Once you have filled it, roll it up and put it in a sandwich-maker machine, just like when you make toast sandwiches. It is preferable to eat them when they are warm, but they also work great in the cold version, without the sandwich-maker side.

Another option for those who prefer more spicy, would be to replace the cream cheese with a sauce like samurai sauce, dried raw muscle with a dry salami, cheese with a mix of grated cheese, and pepper of your choice spicy, kapia or Bulgarian.

Do the same for the rest and you will get another variant of tortilla, spicy. All the products for which I left the link are products that I have in the refrigerator constantly.

The last version of the tortilla is a sweet one, as I said, inspired by Teo & # 8217s Kitchen.

We grease the tortilla with chocolate cream, and here I have a discovery from lidl that I have recommended in the past, over you can put thin slices of banana.

Roll well, cut the resulting roll in half and pass it through a beaten egg.

Then fry them on both sides in a tablespoon of melted butter until golden brown and you will get a sweet, delicious and quick breakfast!

About these are the breakfast ideas that I wanted to propose to you, that I made during the isolation period, I recommend you to try them too!

For those who have more time, you can also try the pancake recipe that I wrote some time ago!

I hope you like the recipes, writing I realized that I have so many delicious recipes that I could recommend, but I promise to come back with them in the future!

Thanks to those who read and I am waiting for your flying date! I have many great projects that I can't wait to share!

CSID tried pancakes with 3 basic ingredients

I have tried many pancake recipes over time. I've always been fascinated by American pancakes, and that's because I couldn't help but notice how the cartoon characters served them for breakfast, and then I met them in teen movies, until I was allowed to use the stove and I decided to try them myself.

I have to admit that if I had to choose between the classic pancakes, with thin dough and pancakes, I would sign up for the second category without fail. I always tried to make the final result delicious, fluffy and not at all complicated, which is why I tried many options until I came to a simple recipe, with only a few ingredients. So the quantities I will mention are the ones I use for a two serving. I get about eight fluffy pancakes that I enjoy for breakfast. Let's face it, I don't eat all eight.

5 ideas for a sweet breakfast

Mornings, especially those that start very early and run on the run because we have to get to kindergarten or school, are always a problem when it comes to breakfast. Of course, the ideal solution is to resort to something extremely fast or something that is prepared the day before and that is only good to serve in the first hour.
Although I'm not a fan of breakfast (coffee is the basis for me), the children learned to eat before going to school and, in addition to breakfast, I have to prepare the packages. If at school we rule that we are not allowed to put anything sweet in the package, in the morning at home I sometimes start the day with something sweet.
Sweet breakfasts usually require a little effort & # 8211 but the advantage is that, most of the time, you can prepare them 1-2 days before and in the morning just to put them on your plate and you have breakfast provided extremely quickly. Add some delicious and healthy ingredients, such as milk, yogurt, fruit, honey or nuts and the kids will finish everything on the plates.

And the whole atmosphere of the day is completely different when you start the morning with something sweet and good!

1. American pancakes or pancakes
These are by far my favorites. I have a basic recipe, with yogurt, and starting from it I prepare different options, depending on the ingredients I have at home.
The advantage of these American pancakes is that they are great the next day. I usually make pancakes on Sundays and I always make a slightly larger amount, so I have breakfast provided the next morning.
As I said above, serve the pancakes with yogurt, fruit, honey, nuts or even a little grated chocolate on top.

2. Check and bold
They always make a sensation! In fact, they are just a little sweet, simple doughs that go perfectly with yogurt, kefir, sana or warm milk, but also with fruit. I think everyone knows at least one recipe for blackberry or cake, and from here you can add your favorite ingredients.

3. Oats
Oat stew is one of our family favorites. The huge advantage is that it can be boiled before and in the morning just to add fruit, honey and nuts and a healthy and flavorful breakfast is ready.
I also recently discovered the option of preparing oats without boiling & # 8211 by putting it in the oven overnight. Personally, I think it must be tastier like that! In addition, it is prepared very quickly and with minimal effort.

4. Briose
I have several variants of muffins that contain oats, yogurt or bananas and are ideal for breakfast. In addition, I sometimes make a variant of very slightly sweet muffins with natural mayonnaise that go great with butter and jam.

5. Puddings
In this category include various stews, such as rice, semolina, but also cold pudding with chia.
They are usually served with a lot of cinnamon, jams or simply with a honey fruit sauce.
